John Ritsick, Esq., is a partner at Ritsick Law LLC, where his practice spans a wide variety of subjects related to general commercial and corporate work; intellectual property transactions; corporate governance and board-level management; complex international commercial transactions; negotiations and dispute resolution; manufacturing and supply-chain related agreements; artificial intelligence and automation deals; licensing arrangements, including software, and SaaS-based agreements and patent licenses; outsourcing and services agreements; and data security and privacy issues. John's clients include multinational public companies in the manufacturing and data center spaces; venture-backed startup companies in the automotive and insurance industries; clients in both higher- and lower-education; robotics companies, including underwater autonomous vehicle companies; and tech-enabled consulting and services companies. Before re-entering private practice, John was a Vice President for Legal with of Guild Education, and before that he was Vice President-Legal, Deputy General Counsel, and Chief Intellectual Property Office for Flex Ltd., a publicly-traded $24-billion multinational manufacturing and technology company. John's responsibilities for Flex included managing the company's IP portfolio, budget, and licensing program, overseeing IP training for the sales and design teams, negotiating key IP agreements, and counselling transaction teams for IP in their commercial and M&A deals. He was also at various times lead counsel for the company's Strategic Partnerships, Consumer Technology, Industrial, Infrastructure, and Computing groups, among others, and his other in-house positions include Gates Industrial Corporation and Exclusive Resorts. John's law-firm experience includes KO, a boutique law firm in Colorado specializing in corporate and technology transactional work, Sage Law Group, Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath, and Cooley LLP. John graduated cum laude from Colorado State University in 1992 with a B.A. in Political Science. He received an M.A. in Political Science from Columbia University in 1994 and a J.D. from Georgetown University, cum laude, in 1999, after which he clerked for the Honorable Justice Michael Bender on the Colorado Supreme Court. John has also served as an adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Denver's Sturm College of Law, where he has taught classes on contracting drafting and negotiation.
