Honorable Nathan Kelley, the former solicitor for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, is the acting chief judge of the agency's Patent and Trial Appeal Board. Kelley. He started his career at the USPTO in 1993 as a patent examiner. As solicitor, he played a major role in crafting the agency's position in some of the most important cases to go before the Federal Circuit in the brief history of the AIA. He holds both a law degree and a bachelor's degree from George Washington University.
