Geri Lynn Elias currently serves as the Vice President & Intellectual Property Counsel of Kate Spade & Company.   In her current role, Geri is responsible for all aspects of the company's intellectual property portfolio consisting of such brands as Kate Spade New York, Kate Spade Saturday and Jack Spade, among others, as well as handling all licensing, clearance of all marketing and advertising, social media issues, model and photographer agreements, celebrity agreements, and various other agreements, sweepstakes, litigation management, anti-counterfeiting efforts and general corporate legal issues. Prior to joining Kate Spade & Company, Geri was VP & General Counsel- IP/Licensing at Perry Ellis International for almost 12 years; and prior to Perry Ellis, Geri was in private practice in New York City. Geri is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the International Trademark Association (INTA), and Geri is also Chair of the Fashion Industry Group of INTA. Additionally, Geri is Co-Chair of the American Apparel and Footwear Association's Brand Protection Council.  Geri was fortunate to receive numerous awards and accolades recently including:  2015 US Corporate IP Star by Managing IP; 2015 Award for Excellence in Trademark Law by Corporate America Legal Elite;  2015 IP Team of the Year by the World Trademark Review; and Top 100 Corporate Counsel Rising Stars in the United States in 2014 by Legal500.  Finally, Modern Counsel Magazine's featured an article on Geri in its recent Sept/Oct./Nov. 2015 edition http://modern-counsel.com/kate-spade/.
