El Paso County Attorney's OfficeJessica Brungardt, Esq., is an Assistant County Attorney III in El Paso County. Jessica wanted to be a lawyer since high school after reading the “The Monkey Trials” in her AP English class. Jessica was exposed to the child protection world as a senior in undergrad when she had the opportunity to observe a couple of dockets. It was at this time that she knew exactly what she wanted to do and set her on the path to working in child protection and adult protection. Jessica started interning at the El Paso County Attorney’s Office the summer before going to law school in 2012. She kept coming back to intern throughout her law school career and while she awaited her BAR results. While attending Hamline University School of Law Jessica was the Student Advisor for the Child Advocacy Clinic doing Guardian ad Litem work. After passing the BAR, Jessica worked at the El Paso County Guardian ad Litem’s office for a short period of time before taking an attorney position at the El Paso County Attorney’s office in 2016 to present day. Jessica has worked the regular child protection dockets, the juvenile delinquency docket, the Well Baby Court docket, Family Treatment Drug Court docket, and Adult Protection docket. Jessica also just spent the last year serving on the Women in Leadership Advisory Board for UCCS. In Jessica’s free time she loves to spend time with her family and loves to get out for hikes in the mountains.
