Jill D. Dorancy

Hon. Jill Dorancy was appointed as a Judge in the Second Judicial District (Denver) where she currently presides over domestic relations matters. Before her appointment to the Denver District Court, she was Senior Counsel at a boutique law firm, specializing in oil and gas regulatory matters and energy-related litigation from 2017-2020, a Hearings Officer for the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission from 2012-2017, a partner with Cooper and Dorancy, LLC, where she practiced criminal defense, domestic relations and juvenile law, and a clerk for Justice Gregory Kellam Scott on the Colorado Supreme Court. A native of Brooklyn, NY, Judge Dorancy earned her Bachelor of Arts from Binghamton University in New York and her J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law.
