Elizabeth K. Salinas-Van Orman
Messner Reeves LLPElizabeth K. Salinas-Van Orman is an associate attorney at Messner Reeves, where her practice focuses on professional licensing matters and medical malpractice defense. Her unique background as a trained physician and attorney allows her to offer a deep understanding of the medical and legal issues facing healthcare professionals. Elizabeth is also a trained ADR professional and focuses her mediation practice on civil cases in the Spanish-speaking community. She currently volunteers as a bilingual court mediator for Court Mediation Services in Denver District Court. Before entering law, Elizabeth earned her M.D. degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and completed a residency in Ophthalmology and a fellowship in Glaucoma. She served as a faculty member and practicing ophthalmologist in Mexico City before moving to Colorado, where she spent over a decade as Research Director at Glaucoma Consultants of Colorado, managing more than 80 FDA multicenter clinical trials. Elizabeth earned her J.D. degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she served as president of the Health Law Society and staff editor for the Criminal Law Review. During law school, she gained valuable litigation and mediation experience as a student attorney and through externships with the Denver District Court and BarrADR. Elizabeth is the current Chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the Colorado Bar Association, after serving as Vice Chair and Secretary in previous terms. She also serves on the Planning Committee for the 19th Annual CBA-CLE ADR Conference. She frequently teaches as a guest lecturer in mediation courses at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and has served as an administrator for the ABA Regional Representation in Mediation Competition.
