Ann Lane, Senior Counsel, is Senior Counsel for WPX Energy, Inc. in Denver, Colorado, providing commercial support for WPX's asset and marketing teams for the Delaware Basin in Texas and New Mexico. She previously managed legal services for the Piceance and Powder River Basin asset teams, and was instrumental in the divestiture of both of those basin assets in the past year, which generated approximately a billion dollars in revenue for her company. Ann started her career as a Petroleum Landman, working on the business side of the oil and gas industry, before attending law school at Southern Methodist University School of Law. Following law school Ann started her legal career as an associate at Jones Day Reavis & Pogue in Dallas, Texas and at Holme Roberts & Owen in Denver, Colorado. Ann has also worked in-house as regional counsel, supporting all of the western United States for XO Communications, Inc., and as a natural resources attorney providing primarily commercial support for both Kerr-McGee Rocky Mountain Corporation and Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. Ann is a member of the Texas and Colorado bar associations and the Denver Association of Petroleum Landmen. She is a former council member and President of the Natural Resources and Energy Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association. She is active in several committees for the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and has also served as a former trustee.
