Carl S. McGuire III
13th Judicial District
The Honorable Carl S. McGuire III has served as a district court magistrate and judge in the Thirteenth Judicial District since November 2013. Prior to that, he served on the Washington County Court bench beginning in January 2005. He presides over a mixed docket of cases involving domestic relations, juvenile, civil, criminal, and probate issues. Judge McGuire served on active duty in the U.S. Navy JAG Corps as a legal assistance/domestic relations attorney before returning to the eastern plains of Colorado to practice law. He continues to serve as a JAG officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Judge McGuire received his B.S. in agricultural economics from Colorado State University and his J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law.
