K. Kelly Close, P.E., has been working in Colorado for 26 years in the areas of water resources planning and water rights engineering. She joined Hydrosphere Resource Consultants in 1992, hired out of college to automate spreadsheet programs and prepare water court exhibits. There she discovered the wonderful and challenging world of Colorado water rights and never looked back. In 2007 she moved to Leonard Rice Engineers, Inc. to get more involved in water rights modeling and data management. There, she created a new focus area, the Water Information Technology group, and pulled together a team of like minded “water resources technologists” (aka geeks). Together they focus on implementing centralized and streamlined solutions for water information management, reporting and accounting in Colorado and the Western states. Kelly graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
