Roy E. Smith

Roy Smith is the statewide program lead for BLM Colorado on water rights, instream flow protection, and Wild and Scenic Rivers.  Roy also carries out national-level responsibilities for the BLM, including design and implementation of water-related training courses, formulation of bureau-wide guidance for water and stream management, and support for water-related litigation.  Roy has worked for BLM since 1992 in the agency's Colorado headquarters, located in Lakewood.   Roy has received national-level awards from The Public Lands Foundation, The River Management Society, and The Wilderness Society for his work in advancing collaborative management of river systems.
