NY Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control UnitMarie Spencer, Esq., is an Assistant Attorney General in the New York State Office of the Attorney General assigned to the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. As such, she is responsible for investigating and prosecuting significant fraud cases involving the Medicaid program. Marie has been with the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit for twelve years. In addition to her work for the unit, she has been a member of several National Association of Medicaid Fraud Control Units investigation and negotiating teams that resulted in global settlements with pharmaceutical giants Eli Lilly, Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. These settlements returned billions of dollars to federal and state government health care programs. Before joining the Office of the Attorney General, Marie was an Assistant District Attorney for Staten Island, New York and prosecuted numerous gang-related assault, robbery and homicide cases.
