Charles R. Mendez, Esq. is an associate at the Denver, Colorado law firm of Burg Simpson Eldredge Hersh & Jardine PC, where he specializes in medical malpractice litigation. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. He has written articles and taught CLE classes on attorney professionalism, tort law, and health care law. His articles have been published in the peer-reviewed journal Legal Ethics, the South Carolina Law Review, and the Denver Law Review Online. He was the winner of the Smith-Doheny Legal Ethics writing competition, administered by Notre Dame Law School. He was also the recipient of the American Inns of Court, Warren E. Burger Prize for his writing in ethics and professionalism, which was presented at the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Mendez received his law degree from the University of Denver, and he is licensed to practice in the state of Colorado.
