John C. Lowrie
US Postal ServiceJohn Lowrie, Esq., became the director of the Denver field office of the EEOC in September 2014. As director, he is responsible for the field office's operations and is the head official overseeing the enforcement of the federal laws prohibiting employment discrimination under the EEOC's jurisdiction. John often serves as keynote presenter at regional and national conferences where he discusses the laws enforced by EEOC and EEOC's strategic enforcement plan. Prior to joining the EEOC, John served as a rule of law advisor and chief of staff with the U.S. Department of State in Afghanistan. Prior to his service in Afghanistan, he worked as a labor and employment attorney in Denver for ten years, including eight years with the law firm of Ford & Harrison LLP. John has deep ties to the Colorado community. From 2006 to 2009, he served as the Colorado chairman for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. He also previously served as a board member to the Anchor Center for Blind Children and Colorado Youth at Risk. John has a wide range of academic accomplishments. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. He recently completed an advanced master's degree in HeInternational Human Rights Law at New College, Oxford.
