Scott Moss, Director, Division of Labor and Statistics, Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, and former Professor and Schaden Chair in Experiential Learning at the University of Colorado Law School. He has litigated civil cases and advised small businesses on employment matters, including the following cases, for plaintiffs and defendants, in recent years, several of them pro bono: trials of securities fraud, defamation, RICO, industrial negligence, legal malpractice, and wage claims; appeals of several of those tried cases, as well as of decisions on sexual orientation discrimination, race harassment, and the First Amendment; and preliminary injunction work on First Amendment and election law. He was twice appointed a Boulder County hearing officer, including once presiding over a hearing and writing a decision on an employment matter. He has held positions in the ABA Labor & Employment Section (Secretary) and Colorado Faculty of Federal Advocates (Board of Directors; Chair of CLE Committee). His CLE work includes presentations for the ABA Labor & Employment Section's national conferences, the National Employment Lawyers Association's national and Colorado conferences, the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association, and the Colorado Bar Association. His publications include empirical studies (of summary judgment brief writing, jury behavior, school admissions, etc.), articles on litigation issues (class action procedure, settlement confidentiality, electronic discovery, etc.), and Aspen's Employment Law casebook.
