Jennifer B. Torrington

Honorable Jennifer B. Torrington has served as a judicial officer since 2004. She served as a juvenile and domestic relations magistrate in Denver until July 2016, when she was appointed to a District Court Judgeship. She currently presides in a domestic relations division, and has previously served in civil, criminal, domestic, and juvenile divisions. In 2020, she was selected for the Distinguished Jurist Award by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. She is a member of the Colorado Child Support Commission, has Co-Chaired the PALS Licensed Legal Paraprofessionals (LLP) Qualifications for Licensure Working Group, and serves on the LLP Judicial Training sub-committee.   Judge Torrington enjoys presenting on issues related to domestic law and practice at the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Advanced Family Law Seminar, the Family Law Institute, the annual Domestic Relations and Probate Judicial Conference, and the Colorado Judicial Conference.  Prior to joining the bench, her practice focused on dependency and neglect, adoptions, juvenile delinquency, probate, and domestic relations actions.
