Judi's House trains over a dozen graduate and postgraduate trainees in this model of care each year. Brook also has a longstanding collaboration with Dr. Louise Silvern from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Together they have been conducting a prospective, longitudinal study on the impact of childhood trauma and loss and the effectiveness of bereavement services that currently includes over 2,300 participants. Judi's House is also in the process of developing a collaborative network of researchers, practitioners and community partners aimed at utilizing innovative technology, training and multi-site research to increase access to integrated systems of care that effectively address the unique and diverse needs of the bereaved. In addition to extensive clinical experience working directly with children and adults coping with histories of trauma and loss, Brook publishes and presents nationally on bereavement, trauma, posttraumatic growth, juvenile offenders, family violence, assessment and intervention.
