Jeff Lyng is a Senior Policy Advisor with the Center for the New Energy Economy. In this role he works with states in developing clean energy policies and programs. Prior to joining the Center, Jeff was the Director of Regulatory Affairs at Opower, a behavioral energy efficiency company. He served as the Renewable Energy Policy Manager in former Colorado Governor Bill Ritter's Energy Office and was also a technical consultant at Xcel Energy on demand side management and solar programs. Jeff earned his Master's degree in Building Systems Engineering from the University of Colorado where his thesis work focused on implementing solar energy in the production home market. While a graduate student, he managed the winning 2005 University of Colorado Solar Decathlon Team. Jeff has served on the boards of Xcel Energy's Innovative Clean Technologies Program, the Colorado Energy Services Coalition, the Colorado Renewable Energy Society and is a past Board Chair of the American Solar Energy Society
