Lou Ann Hutchison is the Executive Director of People & Culture Operations for Grant Thornton LLP. In her role as the HR Leader for the US Firm, Lou Ann provides leadership for the Embedded HR Delivery teams (including HR, Recruiting and Learning), and also oversees the firm's Total Rewards strategy, Human Capital Technology strategy, Workforce Planning and Analytics, and financial operations of the People & Culture function. Lou Ann is involved in a number of firm strategic initiatives, and in recent years has been actively involved in the development of innovative strategies for workforce wellbeing including a focus on retirement planning, health and welfare benefits and pay for performance strategies. Lou Ann has worked in public accounting for over 30 years. She started her career as an auditor with Arthur Andersen in 1982 before transferring into an internal position in audit operations. She led the Audit Operations function in the Carolinas for 10 years before assuming the position of Carolinas Director of Administration in 2000. Lou Ann joined Grant Thornton in June, 2002 and assumed the role of Southeast Region Director of Human Resources in January, 2003. Lou Ann joined the National People & Culture function in 2007 and has advanced since that time into her current role as the HR Leader for the firm. Lou Ann is a Certified Public Accountant in North Carolina and a DDI Certified Facilitator. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the NC Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Society for Human Resources Management. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Cleveland County Tennis Association as Treasurer and is in the United Way of Central Carolinas Women's Leadership Circle. Lou Ann is a graduate of North Carolina State University, with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration / Accounting.
