Laurie Rose Kepros, Esq. is an attorney in the Arapahoe County Office of the State Public Defender.  In 10 years as a public defender, she has also worked in Douglas, Elbert, and Pueblo Counties.  In 2005 and 2006, Ms. Kepros represented 5% of the defendants charged in Colorado under the Lifetime Supervision Act, principally those accused of sexual assault on a child.  She has served on numerous subcommittees of the Sex Offender Management Board since 2007.  Ms. Kepros has trained and presented on sex offense related issues to defense attorneys and at the Sex Offender Management Board's Annual Conference.  She has also prepared case law materials for victim advocacy groups.  She has lectured on Queer Theory and the law and was published in the Tulane Journal of Law and Sexuality in 1999.  Ms. Kepros has sat on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar since 2002.  She is an honors graduate of Northwestern University and the University of Colorado School of Law and completed a judicial clerkship after graduation.  Ms. Kepros is admitted to the bar in Colorado and at the United States Supreme Court.
