Office of Dispute ResolutionKristin Thompson, M.A., Applied Communication, mediates on contract for the Office of Dispute Resolution, (since 2000) working with parents who have never been married to come up with a viable parenting plan, and couples who are dissolving their marriage. She also contracted with the United States Postal Service for seven years (2000-2007) mediating EEO complaints. She has conducted over 4,000 mediations in the last 20 years. Kristin also volunteered her services at Jefferson County Mediation Services from 1995 to 2010, where she mediated more than 200 neighborhood, contract, landlord-tenant, family, victim-offender and other conflicts. Kristin served on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Council of Mediators (CCMO), 2/2000-12/2003, as CCMO Treasurer 6/2002-12/2003. She is considered by CCMO to have met the guidelines for professional mediator both in Civil and Divorce and Child Custody mediation. Kristin received her B.A. in Communication in 1996 from the University of Colorado at Denver, a Certificate in Advanced Studies in Alternative Dispute Resolution in November of 2000, and her M.A. in Applied Communication in May 2002 from the University of Denver.
