Mark A. Bales, Esq., is the Deputy General Counsel for SomaLogic, a healthcare company focused on proteomics, where he manages a legal team responsible for transactional and licensing work, data privacy and security matters, employment matters, and develops and implements the company's intellectual property strategies and manages its global patent and trademark portfolios. Prior to SomaLogic, Mark was a patent attorney at Los Alamos National Labs where he supported the Bioscience Division, and IP Counsel for Marina Biotech, Inc., an siRNA therapeutics company in the Seattle, Washington area. Mark holds a B.S. in Genetics from The Pennsylvania State University, a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from The University of Arizona, and J.D. from Seattle University.
