Lauren Wylie Gempel, Esq., is an associate attorney at Epstein Patierno, LLP. Lauren grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado and graduated from Colorado State University. She attended law school at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University where she was awarded a Child and Family Advocacy Fellowship and served as the Managing Editor for Family Court Review, Volume 52. During law school Lauren handled pro bono cases in the Juvenile Law Clinic and worked as a research assistant to Andrew Schepard, the Director of the Center for Children, Families and the Law at Hofstra University. After law school, Lauren worked as a law clerk for District Court Judge Ann Gail Meinster in Jefferson County. After her clerkship, Lauren worked for Peper Law Offices, P.C., serving as a Guardian ad Litem in dependency and neglect and juvenile delinquency proceedings and a court-appointed Respondent Parent Counsel in dependency and neglect and child support-enforcement proceedings. In this role, Lauren had the privilege of working as a Guardian ad Litem and Respondent Parent Counsel in Jefferson County's Family Integrated Drug Treatment Court. Lauren joined Epstein Patierno, LLP, in January of 2018 where she focuses exclusively on family law and dependency and neglect matters. Lauren is a member of the Colorado Bar Association's Family Law Section.
