M. Colin C. Bresee

Law Office of M Colin Bresee
Colin Bresee, Esq., graduated from law school in Michigan in 1992. While in law school, his academic excellence earned him a place on the Law Review. He also co-won the “Top Gun” award in his final year of law school, an award recognizing the brightest and best member of the prestigious Law Review publication. Mr. Bresee was licensed in Colorado in 1995.  He worked initially as a prosecutor in the Denver City Attorney's Office before working as a Deputy District Attorney on the Western Slope in Telluride, Montrose, Gunnison, Delta and Grand Junction.  He was 'reluctantly forced' to live in Telluride for two ski seasons.  As a prosecutor he worked extensively on Domestic Violence and Sex Offense cases, eventually training District Attorney's Offices and Law Enforcement Agencies in these two areas. Mr. Bresee traveled to other Judicial Districts in Colorado as a “Special Prosecutor” on complex cases. Pre-1998 the legislature made it very difficult to obtain a conviction in these fields.  The laws have changed substantially since the 90's in these fields. In 1997, Attorney Bresee opened up his own Criminal Defense practice in Denver, Colorado.  He has counseled numerous clients, law firms, and embassies in his field of practice.  Colin is a trial lawyer.  He has tried over 300 cases across the Courtrooms of Colorado.   Mr. Bresee practices in both Federal and State Courts.  He continues to make new law arguing in front of the Colorado Court of Appeals and Colorado Supreme Court three times in 2017 alone. Colin has handled or consulted on over 1000 domestic violence and sex offense cases in Colorado and across the United States.
