Kara Veitch, Esq., is Chief Legal Counsel for Governor Polis, a position she has held since 2021. Her duties include advising the Governor and executive leadership on a wide range of legal, policy, and legislative issues. Previously, Ms. Veitch was the Executive Director of the Department of Personnel & Administration and was a civil litigator in Denver law firms. She has also served as the president of the Colorado Women’s Bar Association and the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Colorado. Ms. Veitch is on the board of directors for Colorado Legal Services and formerly served as chair of Beyond our Borders and the Women’s Bean Project. She holds a B.A., M.B.A., and J.D., from the University of Colorado.
