Orrick, Herrington & Suttcliffe LLPShana Solomon, is the founder of Omics Law Group and has extensive experience representing an array of life science and biotechnology companies, from very large multinational companies to small biotech startups. Shana was VP and General Counsel of the Biosciences Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. for nearly seven years, until March 2012 when she returned to private practice. Shana has deep experience drafting and negotiating countless strategic patent and technology licenses, R&D collaboration and development agreements, supply, quality, distribution and other strategic agreements with universities around the globe and companies in the life science, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. She also advises life science and biotechnology companies on developing, acquiring, protecting, licensing and commercializing their intellectual property, as well as associated freedom to operate and other commercial issues. Shana is also experienced in managing issues pertaining to intellectual property inventorship and infringement, having settled an inventorship dispute between collaborators, two major lawsuits and one brought by a non-practicing patent entity. Prior to her time at Thermo Fisher, she worked at Qwest Communications, Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, Faegre & Benson, Davis, Graham & Stubbs, and clerked on the United States Court of Federal Claims. Shana received her JD (cum laude) from Cornell Law School (1997), her MS from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1994) and her BS (with Distinction) from Cornell University (1992).
