Michael Switzer has practiced family law for the past 21 years. Michael studied at the University of Northern Colorado, where he earned his undergraduate degree in history as a secondary education teacher, then went on to earn his law degree at the University of Denver in 1998. From 1998 to 2014, Michael practiced with Litvak Litvak Mehrtens Epstein & Carlton, P.C. (now Litvak Litvak Mehrtens & Carlton, P.C.) and was a shareholder from 2010 to 2014. Thereafter, Michael opened his own law practice, Switzer Family Law Office, LLC, where he continues to practice family law. Michael is a member of the Denver Bar Association, the Solo Small Firm and Family Law sections of the Colorado Bar Association, and the American Bar Association, and was listed as a Rising Star in 5280 Magazine. Michael has authored and lectured on numerous family law issues, including the family law section of the 1999 Annual Survey of Colorado Law and “Parental Rights and Responsibilities of Grandparents and Third Parties” in the May 2001 issue of The Colorado Lawyer.
