Lance K. Tanaka

Lance Tanaka is the Vice President for the American Arbitration Association's (AAA) Denver regional office.  He is responsible for the Association's services in Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, and Wyoming.   He joined the AAA's Honolulu office in 1992, and served as the Vice President from 1995-1998.  In 1998, he moved to Colorado to oversee the AAA's Denver office.   Lance is responsible for the development of the Association's dispute resolution services and manages the recruitment and training of arbitrators and mediators for the AAA's Panel of Neutrals. Lance received formal mediation training from the Neighborhood Justice Center (NJC) in Honolulu where he mediated disputes between landlord and tenants, neighbors, parents and children, domestic relations, and commercial business disputes.  He serves on the AAA's Panel of Mediators that resolves appraisal disputes and expedited commercial cases.   In a volunteer role, he has mediated and arbitrated attorney-fee disputes for both the Hawaii and Colorado Bar Associations. Lance is a non-Attorney member of the Colorado Bar Association (CBA) and participates in the CBA's ADR Committee.  He currently serves as a Board Member for the Colorado Judicial Institute (CJI).  Lance is a graduate from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
