Johnson, Jr., Esq., began his legal career in 1971, after his graduation from the University of Wyoming College of Law, as an associate attorney in a general civil practice and an Assistant City Attorney in Loveland, Colorado. In 1972, Mr. Johnson began eight years with the Larimer County District Attorney's Office, where he served as a Deputy and Chief Deputy District Attorney. Mr. Johnson became a Member of his current firm, Vahrenwald, Johnson & McMahill, LLC, in 1980, where he has been a Partner since 1982. In addition to having been listed in Who's Who in American Law, Mr. Johnson has been named a Colorado Super Lawyer, and he has received the Larimer County Bar Association Professionalism Award. Mr. Johnson's professional associations include the American Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association (Member Board of Governors 1997-2002), Larimer County Bar Association (Executive Committee most recently from 1991 to 2002; President 1995-1996), the National District Attorney's Association (1973 - 1980), the 8th Judicial District Victim's Assistance and Law Enforcement Fund Allocation Committee - Treasurer (1990-1996), and the 8th Judicial District Judicial Nominating Commission (Member 1998 - 2004). In addition, Mr. Johnson has been involved in civic organizations throughout his career, presently serving on the McKee Medical Center Foundation Board (since 2005) as well as the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado, Loveland Community Board Fund.
