Ann C. Gushurst
JAMS DenverAnn Gushurst, LLB, has over two decades of experience in Family Law as a litigator, mediator and collaborative attorney. After a long litigation career, Ann joined JAMS in 2020 and has continued working in family law as a mediator/ arbitrator/ collaborative facilitator/ neutral. Several years ago, Ann became interested in the intersection between civil rights and family law and was subsequently involved in several cases that changed Colorado law, the most notable of which resulted in the holding that Colorado's DOMA law was unconstitutional. Ms. Gushurst has remained very involved in the legal community, serving on the Family Law Executive Council for more than a decade, and being involved in the MDIC, the IDC and COAFCC over the years. She served on the Sorensen committee and the more recent DR Rules committees. She has lectured more than 40 times on such topics as parenting issues, court procedure, and the intersection of constitutional rights and family law and recently published two articles in the Colorado Lawyer on the use of GALs in Family Law cases.
