David B Bush LLCDavid Bush, Esq., practices with the Clark Hill, PLC focusing primarily on commercial litigation for clients in the marijuana, hemp and other industries. He also advises clients on general business and regulatory law. David earned his B.A. in Economics from Colgate University and an M.S. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Arizona. He earned his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin. David has been licensed to practice law in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Arizona, and Colorado. After joining the Colorado bar, David worked as a staff attorney in the consumer protection division of the Colorado Office of the Attorney General and as an Assistant District Attorney in Denver. He was an associate attorney and later, partner, in the commercial litigation firm of Markusson, Green & Jarvis. After retail marijuana and industrial hemp were legalized in Colorado in 2014, David formed his own solo law practice, where he focused exclusively on advising and assisting clients in the hemp industry. In January 2017, he joined the Hoban Law Group, one of the leading Cannabis law practices in Colorado, as a Senior Attorney. In 2021, Hoban Law Group merged with Clark Hill. David has served as a Director and Treasure of both the Hemp Industries Association (HIA), the oldest and largest trade association for the hemp industry in America; and its Colorado state chapter. He is the founder and President of the Industrial Hemp Research Foundation, a tax-exempt non-profit corporation dedicated to raising funds to support hemp-related education and academic research at institutions of higher education. He served on the Colorado citizens stakeholder group that investigated and made recommendations to the state legislature on promoting the use of hemp in animal feeds, and on the Hemp Feeds Coalition, a private citizens group that promotes hemp as an ingredient in animal feeds. David also assisted the Colorado Hemp Advancement and Management Plan (CHAMP) organized by the Colorado Department of Agriculture, serving on the citizens stakeholder group for Hemp Transportation. He continues to advise and assist policymakers in Colorado to help ensure the state’s continuing leadership in the emerging hemp industry.
