Heather W. Whitman, Esq., is a Senior Assistant Attorney General in the Specialized Business Unit of the Revenue and Regulatory Section at the Colorado Department of Law. She represents agencies within the Colorado Department of Revenue in general counsel and in litigation matters. She has past experience representing state agencies in employment and transportation cases. Prior to joining the Department of Law, Heather worked as a partner and senior trial lawyer in private practice firms for 17 years, where she maintained a civil litigation practice and litigated and tried a variety of cases, including professional liability and licensing, construction, general liability, commercial, and insurance coverage. She is a former contributor to the CBA Construction Law Treatise (2003-2007 supplements) and has co-written several other articles. She has been a member of the Colorado Bar Association Ethics Committee for the past 10 years and has served on the DOL Ethics Committee. Heather regularly volunteers with the Metro Volunteer Lawyers post-decree clinic.
