Ian focuses his practice in two areas: (1) intellectual property litigation and (2) trademark and copyright counseling. In his litigation practice, Ian has first-chaired more than a dozen trials and regularly appears in federal and state courts and in various alternative dispute resolution forums. He has conducted trials, arbitrations, and evidentiary hearings in patent, trademark, and copyright cases, among others. In his trademark and copyright counseling practice, Ian advises large and small businesses on worldwide trademark and copyright acquisition, clearance, use, registration and transactional matters, including Internet-related matters. Ian advises clients in a variety of industries, including media and entertainment, software, resorts, food and beverage, and financial services. He has been retained as a mediator and as an expert witness in copyright and trademark matters.
