DiPonio & DiPonio LLCLisa DiPonio, Esq., along with Frank DiPonio, Esq., is a founding partner of the law firm, DiPonio & DiPonio, LLC, located in Littleton, Colorado. She graduated Cum Laude from Michigan State University College of Law in 1993. She interned for the Hon. Richard Suhrheinrich, Senior Federal Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge. While in Michigan, she concentrated on birth trauma and psychiatric litigation at the largest metropolitan Detroit malpractice defense firm, Kitch, Drutchas, Wagner, Valitutti and Sherbrook, P.C. She authored the legal brief defining “a duty to warn” for mental health professionals in a decision by the Michigan Supreme Court. She moved to Colorado in 1996, and accepted a position as in-house corporate counsel at Great-West Life & Annuity Insurance Company until 2002, focusing on health benefits, managed care, ERISA and long-term disability issues. At DiPonio & DiPonio, LLC, her current practice is focused on Elder Law, including Protective Proceedings and GAL work; Mental Health, including Certifications, Imposition of Legal Disabilities and Involuntary Commitments; and, Estate Planning and Administration. She is a member of the Elder Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association, chairs the Court Visitor Subcommittee, and has been a member of the CBA Faculty speaking at seminars related to mental health issues and the law. She is admitted to the State Bars of Colorado, Michigan and Illinois.
