Judson D. Cary

Judson Cary, at CableLabs, he is involved in strategy and policy issues facing the cable operator members, complex industry-wide licensing, patents and patent litigation, open source projects, standards membership and process, and antitrust. Mr. Cary is a member of the Board of Directors of the Entertainment ID Registry (EIDR) Assoc. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Cary worked as an engineer in the artificial intelligence/knowledge-based systems group of U S WEST (now CenturyLink). After law school (Santa Clara University, suma cum laude), he worked as a patent attorney for the Silicon Valley-based law firm of Fenwick & West.  Mr. Cary returned to Colorado and followed the legal chain of title from U S WEST, to MediaOne, to AT&T Broadband, now Comcast. After a short stint at a “bomb” company, Mr. Cary returned to the cable industry at CableLabs.
