Scott H. Reisch As the co-chair of Hogan Lovells’s global environmental practice, Scott H. Reisch focuses in three principal areas: contamination issues, commercial transactions, and compliance counseling.
 
Mr. Reisch’s contamination practice includes brownfield redevelopment, voluntary cleanups, and litigation under federal and state cleanup statutes, such as Superfund/the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA).
 
Mr. Reisch has helped clients on brownfield projects across the country, including in California, Colorado, Georgia, Montana, New York, North Carolina, and West Virginia.  
 
Mr. Reisch heads the firm’s transactional environmental practice and regularly advises clients on environmental due diligence, provisions in purchase and financing agreements, and environmental insurance.
 
Mr. Reisch counsels clients in the telecommunications, chemical, pharmaceutical, and agriculture industries on a range of environmental issues, including hazardous waste issues. He represents clients in state and federal enforcement actions, manages environmental audits, and negotiates voluntary self-disclosures with state and federal regulators.
 
Mr. Reisch is a frequent lecturer and author on environmental topics, including brownfields and environmental audits. He previously chaired the Environmental Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association.
 
Mr. Reisch earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1988, where he was notes editor of the Stanford Law Review. He received his B.A., with distinction, in 1985 from Stanford University. Mr. Reisch has been ranked by Chambers USA as a top Colorado lawyer in Natural Resources and Environment (2005-2020); named as a Best Lawyer in Environmental Law by The Best Lawyers of America (2013-18, 2021); named to Colorado Super Lawyers (2007-2015); selected as Barrister’s Best: People’s Choice Environmental Lawyer by Law Week Colorado (2014, 2016-17); and named as a Top Lawyer – Environmental by 5280 (2015-2020).
