David P. Steigerwald

David P. Steigerwald is a partner at Sparks Willson Borges Brandt & Johnson, P.C., a Colorado Springs law firm that he joined in 1995. His practice emphasizes representation of entrepreneurs, medical practices, and technology companies in their finance and general corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private placements, and licensing. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Steigerwald received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, and his law degree from George Mason. While attending George Mason, Mr. Steigerwald was a member of the Law Review and a Dean’s Scholar.
 
Prior to law school, Mr. Steigerwald was an economist with the U.S. Treasury Department; during law school, he served as a law clerk to Administrative Law Judge Bruce C. Levine at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He is currently on the firm’s executive committee and is the firm’s managing director. Mr. Steigerwald is the editor of “The Business Law Column” in The Colorado Lawyer and is a board member with a number of community organizations, including the Foundation for Colorado Springs’ Future, West Side Cares, KCME 88.7 FM, and the McKenzie Monks Foundation.
