Steve K. Jacobson, Esq., has been a criminal trial lawyer for over thirty years. He has tried hundreds of criminal cases in courts across the state of Colorado, ranging from juvenile charges, to DUI and drug possession, to first degree murder. He regularly appears in both Federal and State District Courts. As a Deputy State Public Defender, he managed the Boulder Regional Office for 23 years and was involved in many of the most significant criminal cases in Boulder County. He received numerous awards as a Public Defender, including “Lawyer of the Year” in 2004 and recognition as a Colorado “Super Lawyer” in 2006. Steve is recognized as an expert in the area of forensic sciences. He has lectured locally and nationally and published numerous articles on forensic issues. He has testified as an expert witness on DNA and ethical issues. Steve is substantially involved in serving the legal community. He is a member of the Colorado Supreme Court Criminal Rules Committee and is chairperson of the Supreme Court Attorney Regulation Committee. Steve received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and his J.D. from the University of Denver.
