John Robert Holland is a Denver trial lawyer concentrating his practice in personal injury and civil rights. He has been in practice 30 years. Mr. Holland was the lead trial counsel in a class action, which successfully challenged the former paper compliance focus of the Medicaid nursing home inspection system. The case resulted in an order compelling the Secretary of Health and Human Services to implement the current resident focused inspection system nationwide. The case was also one of the sparks which helped launch the legislative activity culminating in OBRA 87, the national Nursing Home Reform Act. Mr. Holland attended UCLA Law School. Within his personal injury practice, he has long focused on cases involving neglect or abuse of elderly and disabled persons with an emphasis on deceptive trade practice to hold facilities responsible for entrepreneurial deception and bad faith and to account for the multiple separate torts. Mr. Holland also practices in the area of Civil Rights.
