Michael Belo is with the firm of Spencer Fane LLP, where he practices a broad variety of employment law, employee benefits law, and related litigation. He has specialized in labor and employment law since graduation from University of Colorado School of Law in 1977, including 14 years at the National Labor Relations Board, 10 years as general counsel of the largest private sector labor union in Colorado, and the past 18 years in private practice. He has taught labor law on three occasions at DU Sturm College of Law. Currently, he represents employers in employment law cases of all kinds under federal, state, and local laws, including human resources counseling, transactional matters, and litigation as necessary. In addition, he represents employee benefit funds in ERISA litigation, including collection matters for joint labor-management benefit funds.
