William F. Vobach

William F. Vobach is a registered patent attorney in the law firm of Vobach IP Law, LLC. He holds a B.A. from Oberlin College, a B.S. in electrical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, and a J.D. from the University of Denver, where he was a member of the board of editors for the DU Law Review. He currently serves as a co-editor of the Intellectual Property and Technology Law column for The Colorado Lawyer, and is a contributing author to CBA-CLE’s 2011 through 2017 editions of Annual Survey of Colorado Law for the Intellectual Property Law chapter. From 2013 to 2015 he served on the board of directors for The Colorado Intellectual Property American Inn of Court.  In 2017, he presented the “Intellectual Property Law Update – 2017” for CBA-CLE.
 
Mr. Vobach has practiced patent law in Colorado for the last 24 years. He counsels clients in all areas of intellectual property. However, his practice focuses primarily on counseling clients in the procurement and enforcement of patents, the preparation of patent opinions, and the development of intellectual property strategies appropriate for different-sized clients. Mr. Vobach has worked with clients in a wide variety of industries, including software, electronics, cryptography, wireless communications, semiconductors, financial processing systems, medical devices, business methods, fuel cells, clean energy, and mechanical devices. His clientele have included Fortune 500 companies, middle market companies, start-up companies, and individual inventors/entrepreneurs.
