Michael D. White

Michael D. (Sandy) White, Esq., is a poor country lawyer who has practiced water law in Colorado and the surrounding states since 1970. Having assumed senior partner status at Denver’s White & Jankowski, LLP, he now resides on a small hay ranch south of La Veta. Aside from consultations with firm clients, he does as little law work as possible. Sandy has tried a bunch of complex water cases, settled many more, briefed and argued about thirty before state and federal appellate courts, served as a water court Master-Referee for cases involving such things as major transmountain diversions and Federal reserved rights, acted as an expert witness, trained as a mediator, taught in law and graduate schools, authored several dozen articles, papers, and books, spoken at professional programs (over 100 in seventeen states), and chaired the CBA’s water law and environmental law sections.
