Michael C. Santo
Bechtel & SantoMichael C. Santo is with the Grand Junction law firm of Bechtel Santo & Severn. He has experience in federal and state litigation and administrative proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Colorado Civil Rights Commission, and the Colorado Division of Labor and Employment. His other activities have included litigating cases involving sexual harassment; race, national origin, sex, disability, and age discrimination; Fair Labor Standards Act; representation issues; arbitrations; OSHA; and contract and tort litigation arising from the employer-employee relationship, including wrongful discharge and termination at will. He also regularly advises the firm's corporate attorneys and clients on the labor and employment aspects of transactional matters.
Mr. Santo received his J.D. from the University of Detroit Law School and his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University. Mr. Santo is a frequent lecturer on labor and employment law topics. He has given seminars regarding the following issues: Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Winning Unemployment Disputes in Colorado, Hiring and Firing, OSHA, Sex Discrimination and Harassment, Independent Contractors, Privacy, and Employee Handbooks.
