Barrie G. Sullivan II

Sullivan Sullivan & McGuire PC
Barrie Sullivan, II, Esq., is a partner, shareholder, and founding partner of Sullivan Sullivan and McGuire, P.C., which began representing injured workers in 1982. Together with his brother/partner, Kerry Sullivan, and non-brother/partner, Peter McGuire, the office represents injured workers in workers' compensation claims, and represents disabled people in their claims for Social Security Disability Benefits. Barrie graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a B.A. in political science, Vanderbilt School of Law with an L.L.B., and from Georgetown University Graduate Law School with an L.L.M., Masters in Taxation. He received the latter degree while serving in Washington, D.C., with the U.S. Army as a Captain in the Judge Advocate Generals Corp. Upon receiving that degree, and being discharged from the Army, he realized he never wanted to practice any law in the field of taxation! Barrie has been practicing workers' compensation law in Colorado since 1973, representing injured workers only. Although it is rumored that he was present in 1914 when the initial Colorado Workers' Compensation Law was put into effect, that is only a myth. The fact is that he was sick on that day, and was unable to attend the actual signing of that legislation. Barrie is a past President and founding member of the Workers' Compensation Education Association, and has been admitted to the Bar in Colorado since 1968. He has also been admitted to practice, though he is not active, in Massachusetts and Tennessee.
