Goldin Law
Claudia Brett Goldin, Esq., grew up in Boulder, Colorado, earned an undergraduate degree at Harvard University, and served as a VISTA Volunteer with a community development corporation in western Massachusetts.  She then attended law school at the University of Pennsylvania, where she was the recipient of the Penn Public Interest Scholarship, a three-year scholarship awarded on the basis of demonstrated commitment to public service.  Since graduating from law school, Claudia has continued her early commitment to public service.  For the first five years of her legal career, she was a deputy state public defender, representing indigent criminal defendants from throughout Colorado in trial and appellate courts.  In 1999, Claudia joined the Attorney General's Office as counsel to the state Board of Medical Examiners, which is charged with public protection through licensure and discipline of physicians and physician assistants.  In April 2004, Claudia was promoted to serve as First Assistant Attorney General for the Medical Unit. Five years ago, Claudia became the First Assistant Attorney General for the Revenue Unit. In this capacity, Claudia leads the attorneys who represent the Colorado Department of Revenue in all its roles, including tax assessment and tax collection; regulation of the automobile, gaming, liquor, marijuana, marijuana, and racing industries; operation of the Colorado Lottery; and representation of the Division of Motor Vehicles. Claudia has worked on legal issues related to regulation of the marijuana industry since 2010, when the Colorado General Assembly began to develop Colorado's Medical Marijuana Code.
