R. Michael Shomo is a shareholder of Polsinelli, where he advises clients in the areas of real estate development, finance, and ownership structures. Previously, Mr. Shomo served as senior vice president and assistant general counsel for Archstone, a large national multifamily REIT. Before Archstone, Mr. Shomo was a director at Otten, Johnson, Robinson, Neff & Ragonetti, P.C., where he advised clients in the areas of real estate, land use, and construction. Mr. Shomo received his law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 1990, where he received the Harry Clayton Davis award for academic achievement, was made a member of the Order of St. Ives, and was a founder and editor of the Water Court Reporter. Before law school, Mr. Shomo was an architect and practiced with the firms of Anderson Mason Dale, I.M. Pei & Partners, and RTKL.  Mr. Shomo is a member of the Urban Land Institute, has been a member of the American Planning Association, has served on the Legislative Committee of APA Colorado, and has been a contributing author for Colorado Land Planning and Development Law, a publication of APA Colorado and CLE in Colorado, Inc.
