George A. Hagerty’s practice consists of advising companies, private equity firms, and
investment banks in the areas of public and private mergers and acquisitions, corporate
finance, and domestic and international securities offerings. George has practiced law for
over 20 years, including five years in New York City and five years in London. George has
extensive experience in structuring and negotiating private equity investments, stock and
asset acquisitions, mergers, tender offers, leveraged buy-outs, going-private transactions, and
acquisition financings. He advises a number of public companies by assisting them with
regulatory compliance, stock exchange rules, corporate governance issues, and filings with
the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). George also has a wide range of
experience representing issuers and investment banks in domestic and international private
placements and public offerings of debt and equity, including Rule 144A, Regulation S, and
dual-listed offerings. George has been included in The Best Lawyers in America, noted in
particular for his work in private equity transactions, and Chambers USA, where he has been
recognized as a leader in the corporate/M&A field. George currently serves as Co-chair of
the firm’s private equity practice.
