Douglas J. Kotarek, Esq., is head of the Hall & Evans Workers' Compensation defense practice group. Doug handles all aspects of workers' compensation, including workers' compensation hearings, mediation, appeals, and subrogation. He is currently on the Executive Committee of the Colorado Self-Insurers' Association, and lobbies the Colorado legislature on the Association´s behalf regarding workers´ compensation legislation. He also advises self-insured businesses throughout the state on workers' compensation issues. He is on the Advisory Committee for the Colorado Civil Justice League, Workers' Compensation Group, and is a member of the Steering Committee of the Workers' Compensation practice group of ALFA International. Memberships: Colorado Bar Association, Denver Bar Association, Defense Research Institute and Colorado Defense Lawyers Association. His Business / Community Involvement: Colorado Self-Insurers' Association, Professional Member of the Executive Committee. The Colorado Self-Insurers' Association is an association of Colorado employers approved by the state of Colorado to insure their workers' compensation benefits internally. Members include not only representatives at self-insurer entities in both the public and private sectors, but also health care providers, third-party administrators, case management professionals, bill review and state rating companies, law firms, and others involved in workers' compensation; Colorado Civil Justice League, Legal Advisory Board Member (The Colorado Civil Justice League is a coalition dedicated to creating a fair civil justice system in Colorado, and avoid abusive lawsuits.
