Laura M. Metcalfe is an Assistant Director in the Securities and Exchange Commission's Denver Regional Office and Complex Financial Instruments Unit. The Complex Financial Instruments Unit specializes in enforcement cases involving asset-backed securities, derivatives, and other structured products. Ms. Metcalfe joined the SEC staff in 1998 and has been an Assistant Director since 2003. Before she joined the staff, Ms. Metcalfe was an associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and Davis, Graham & Stubbs, where she practiced securities litigation. Ms. Metcalfe earned her J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1992.
