Brian R. Whitney

2nd Judicial District
Honorable Brian Whitney was appointed to the Denver District Court in 2007.  He has presided over Civil, Criminal and Domestic matters since his appointment.  Prior to his appointment he was the First Assistant Attorney General for the Special Prosecutions Section of the Colorado Attorney General's Office and was responsible for prosecuting complex economic crimes, multi-jurisdictional crimes, state and federal environmental crime and organized crime. He headed the Environmental Crimes Unit of that Section since its inception under Attorney General Ken Salazar. Prior to joining the Attorney General's Office, Judge Whitney was a prosecutor with the Fourth Judicial District of Colorado as well as a patent litigator and civil litigator with private law firms in Denver. Judge Whitney received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University and his law Degree from the University of Denver College of Law.
