David Andrews started at Microsoft in 1996 as a software engineer.  In 2004, he moved into Microsoft's legal department as a patent analyst and started law school at Seattle University in the evening program.  In 2007, he completed law school and served as a law clerk to the Hon. Thomas Zilly at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.  He returned to Microsoft in 2008 and now advises his in-house clients on patent filing, litigation, licensing, and open source issues.
